So what you are doing basically so far is pushing down the right notes and not much else. This is piano technique at its most rudimentary. Your hand actually stands up well, but you're not really PLAYING yet, that would involve phrasing and being able to make the notes speak in different ways depending on how you touched them.
Being able to press the right notes down is good, being able to modify how they sound based on how you touch them is even better.
